COVERAGE: Approximate coverage is 300 square feet per gallon. Recommended thickness will require 2 full coats. Expect less coverage on previously painted, rough, porous or sandblasted surfaces.
To figure out the amount of paint you will require: Length of Pool x Width of Pool x 1.7 = square footage x 2 (2 coats) divided by 300 square feet = gallons needed
SURFACE PREPARATION: Power wash or hose the surface to remove all loose paint, dirt, oils, suntan lotions and grease. Clean the pool with a mixture of Tri-Sodium Phosphate (TSP) and water, scrubbing the surface thoroughly and then rinse with water. Next etch the pool with a solution of 50% muriatic acid and 50% water. Then clean again with TSP & flush with plenty of fresh water. Allowed the surface to thoroughly dry for at least 24 hours. Glossy surfaces can be power sanded using 80 grit sandpaper if desired. After applying the 1st coat, wait at least 24 hours before applying the 2nd coat. AFTER APPLYING THE FINAL COAT, WAIT 5 DAYS BEFORE FILLING THE POOL WITH WATER. If it rains at any time during or after application, allow one extra day of cure time for each day of rain.
SUGGESTED USES: Concrete, Gunite or Plaster Pools. For Fiberglass Pools, Spas, or Jacuzzi's, see our Epoxy Pool Paints.
FINISH: Glossy. For a more slip resistant finish, silica sand can be added to areas such as the pool steps or diving platforms to achieve desired texture.
